Learning to Receive Through Bodywork in Vienna

Learning to receive through somatic bodywork in Vienna is for women who give easily and find being on the receiving end far harder. At Sacred Touch it is held for women only, by a male practitioner, in English or German, in a private studio in Vienna's 13th district. It is not therapy or medical care, and not a sexual service.

The one who holds everyone

You are the one others lean on. You carry the work, the family, the friendships, the logistics, and you carry them well. Being the steady one is familiar enough that it barely registers as effort anymore.

What is far less familiar is being held yourself. For many women who hold everything, receiving feels strange, almost uncomfortable, as though it should be earned first or kept brief. That is not a personal failing. It is what happens when competence has had to stand in for care for a long time.

Receiving is not passive

This is the quiet reframe at the centre of this work: receiving is not doing nothing. For many women it is the most active and the most difficult thing they will practise, and the deepest form of return.

To be met without managing the encounter. To be given to without tallying what is owed back. To let attention rest on you and not immediately redirect it. The body often does not know how to do this at first. It learns the way it learns anything real, through repeated, safe experience rather than instruction.

What happens in a session

Before any touch, there is a conversation, over tea, without hurry. When you are ready, you move to the table, covered with soft linen. Your genitals stay covered throughout. The linen moves as the work does, always named before it happens. The touch is slow and follows your body, not a timer. There is no task here, nothing to organise, no one whose comfort you need to tend to. For a woman who is always managing the room, that absence can be the most unfamiliar part, and the most restorative.

Nothing here to manage

The space asks nothing back from you. If what brought you here is a long season of holding everything, or a nervous system that has been holding for years, those pages may meet you too. You can also read whether this space is for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

You undress, and you may keep your underwear on if you wish. Staying fully clothed is not possible, because it prevents the work. Your genitals stay covered for the whole session, always. Whether your breasts stay covered is your choice, and it is settled in the conversation before you undress, never on the table. Soft linen covers you, and it moves only as the bodywork requires, so what is not being worked on stays covered. You can cover up again at any point, and you can stop at any point, without giving a reason.

Sooner for some things than others. Noticing your own state earlier can happen inside a single session: catching that the shoulders are up before the neck starts aching. Reacting less to the week that used to take you over takes longer, and it is not on a schedule. Some women feel very little the first time and notice something days later. That is common, and it is not a sign the work failed.
### What does learning to receive mean in bodywork?

It means giving the body repeated, safe experiences of being met and cared for without having to give anything back, until receiving starts to feel possible rather than uncomfortable. At Sacred Touch this happens through slow, consent-led somatic bodywork for women in Vienna. It is not therapy or medical care.

For women who have spent years being the capable, giving one, receiving can feel unfamiliar or even unsafe, because care has had to be earned or kept brief. The body can relearn it, slowly, in a setting where nothing is expected in return.

No. It is not a sexual service in any form. The work is held in service of the body's capacity to receive. A session includes no contact with your breasts and no contact with your genitals. The scope of a session is settled before you arrive and does not change during the session.
